Asunto: RE: survey in our Baja country Club development
Hi Jose:
We heard of Baja Country Club first through Ed Jones of Gibbs & Associates realtors.
Points we liked the most:
- location on golf course
- design of Loreto
- serene location, though only minutes away from a nice size city
- affordable prize for the location
- nice people we came in contact with (you, Jose)
- we appreciate that you were not pushy but accommodating
We are looking forward to be a part of your community.
Regards Rolf

Jose Luis:
Sorry we missed you this past weekend, but we just ran out of time. As you know, our place at Club Marena is nearing completion and we needed to spend the time there on finishings.
I first heard about Baja Country Club from Eduardo. I had mentioned to him that I would like a different investment opportunity in Baja, besides Club Marena, perhaps less money. He told me about Baja Country Club so we decided to drive out there. That’s when we met you, and the rest is history!
As you know, our purchase at Baja Country Club is strictly an investment. What appeals to us about the project is several fold.
First, Jaime is the developer. We know Jaime, we know his work, we know his history and his longevity in the business, we know how he operates his projects after the construction phase… all of these are benefits to us. I have visited many, many projects in your area and most are either brand new (thus with no operational history) or are existing and are not being kept up. I believe that it is critical for a project to be operated with an HOA that is strong, well-capitalized, and is willing to enforce the HOA rules. So many projects have HOA’s that do not collect 100% of the fees and do not enforce this requirement. This causes great problems, in my opinion. People become angry that they are paying their fees while others are not… maintenance suffers, the place gets run down, the value diminishes, the project begins to attract the wrong kind of people… it is a downward, ugly spiral. Jaime understands, I think, that an American model for the operation of the HOA is critical for the long term health of the project, and that is a strong benefit for us.
Price is obviously another item that attracted us to the project.
Finally I see many, many high-end projects going up at the current time… Trump and all the rest… some beautiful and well-placed, some not. No matter what, many, many more people are coming to the Tijuana-Ensenada corridor, part time and full time. I saw one statistic that said 18,000 additional units are either under construction or in the planning phase in this corridor at the present time. And I don’t see any additional golf courses…
I’m sorry I missed you. We hope to see you again soon.
Sincerely,
Bruce Howard

Don't know what happened here is my reply:
We just came to Baja Country Club to play golf, but were looking to buy a vacation home in Ensenada. Baja Country Club was recommended by our hotel (Estero Beach) for golf.
We felt that this will be a first class resort and are glad to be able to get in on the ground floor. We were impressed with the condition of the golf course as we also played at Bajamar and the course is not in as good condition as Baja Country Club. We liked the location (weather and proximity to the ocean) and the price is within our budget.

Hi Mayte: Here is my comments:
I first learned about Baja Country Club from our sales agent. When I had the opportunity to look at the club I was very impressed. What most appealed to me was that the package that is presented by the Baja Country Club is all inclusive. I could buy the property and have our home built by Baja Country Club. This insures that the home will be 1st class quality as the responsible party is the country club not an independent contractor. The all-in-one price for property and home was the big appeal. Another big appeal was the golf course which is in great condition and is a challenge to play. The upcoming hotel and the improvements that are constantly being made make this a wonderful place to have a home as well as a great investment.

Jose-Luis:
We first heard about the BCC on the Baja Nomads web site and message boards, but our friend, Dan Mcintosh, who lives in Ensenada, was the reason that we initially looked at the property.
We like several things about the BCC:
Being in the canyon is a unique experience, and it is away from the congestion of the city
You have excellent and helpful employees at the clubhouse, the construction crew and your sales staff
The purchase and building process was easy and pleasant, and your response to our concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
I would recommend the BCC to my friends without reservation!!!!!

Hi Jose Luis,
No problem, glad to help and hope we can be of assistance.
We're probably unusual customers but Susan and I decided to buy a house in
Baja Country Club "sight unseen".
We had never been to Baja Mexico before but did extensive research on the
internet and decided the Baja was one of the destinations we might like to
retire in (we also considered Thailand, the Caribbean Islands, Belize, Costa
Rica and Panama). We wanted to purchase a property now even though we will
not be retired for a number of years to allow us to get a "foot in the
market" of the place we ultimately would like to retire in.
While doing research on real estate in each of those destinations, we found
a website for a realtor who was selling property in Ensenada and Rosarito
(sorry, forget the name of the site or the realtor). Anyway, one of the ads
on the website was for houses for sale in Baja Country Club. The price
looked like what we wanted to pay (we were not interested in $500,000 USD
retirement homes) so we "Google searched" Baja Country Club and found your
website.
Once we reviewed the website, we once again "Google searched" and found the
developer was Jamie Garcia who had done Club Marena. This gave us
confidence in the project because Club Marena is a very successful
development and Mr. Garcia is a very well respected developer (read numerous
newspaper articles on him through Google). This gave us confidence that we
would be purchasing a quality home in a quality development (we also Google
searched Baja Country Club and learned the history of the golf course prior
to Mr. Garcia purchasing the property and after his purchase).
After that, we Google searched Ensenada to learn of the city. We were
impressed with what we read so decided BCC/Ensenada offered everything we
were looking for in a retirement destination.
Here is the breakdown of all our considerations:
Why Mexico?
-we wanted to retire somewhere near Canada that was warm for most of the
year (we will spend 9 months/year in Mexico and 3 months/year in Canada once
we retire).
-we wanted a place that had a relatively low cost of living for our
retirement.
-we wanted a place where we could have the option of either driving back and
forth yearly from Canada or flying (which ruled out the Caribbean Islands).
-we wanted something close to the U.S. in case we need to get back for
medical care when we are older (which ruled out Central America and South
America).
-we love the food, relaxed lifestyle and easy going nature of the Mexican
people.
Why Ensenada?
-we wanted to be near the ocean (so inland Mexican destinations did not
interest us).
-close to U.S. Border yet far enough away to still have a "Mexican" feel.
-large enough city (but not too large) to have all the shopping facilities
we wanted close by (Costco, Home Depot, etc).
-close to the wine country
-in our research, Ensenada looked like it would have lots of small shops,
restaurants, bars, etc due to the cruise ships coming in twice/week yet not
too "touristy" like other "full time" tourist destinations like Puerto
Vallarta, Mazatlan, etc. The perfect mix of things to do yet not too busy.
Why Baja Country Club?
-houses were priced right
-title insurance was available on purchase
-fully gated community for security
-the developer was well known and respected (Club Marena/Jamie Garcia)
-the Lorado house design was exactly the type of house we were looking for
(2 story, main floor master bedroom, main floor laundry, large open plan,
nice kitchen, double garage)
-beautiful location (in the mountains, on the golf course yet still close
enough to the ocean to allow us to sea kayak and close enough to the city to
allow us to drive into town for groceries, a nice meal, etc)
-nice community layout; great for golf, mountain biking, walking, etc (Susan
and I both love the outdoors)
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you need anything further as we
both think Baja Country Club is an undiscovered gem!
Warm regards,
Dwayne and Susan Malone

Hello Jose Luis:
This is Van. I am using Gabriela's email
Your question has an easy component and at not-so-easy
component to it. Regarding the first, we simply saw your sign on
the highway as we drove by. We were headed to the La Bufadora area
to look for property out on the peninsula and decided to turn off
the highway to follow up on the signs. It was part of our personal
due diligence.
Regarding the second component, I think there are several factors
involved.
Firstly, and most obviously, is the price. Clearly, the cost of
the package is quite
attractive in today's Baja market.
Secondly, is the package itself. This includes the clear property
title, the relative security of the gated community, the paved
road, the architecture of the model homes, and the location/layout
of the development itself. After driving through the hustle of the
city of Ensenada the feeling of entering an oasis comes to us every
time we enter the front gate. I literally feel myself decompress
as I drive through the gate. Your signage regarding an oasis is
absolutely accurate. A feeling of calm and relaxation comes over
both of us each and every time we enter the gate. It's a feeling
of coming home and we haven't even completed construction yet.
Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, is the level of comfort that
your staff, and in particular yourself, bring to the entire sales
and development transaction. Quite simply, if you had not made the
purchase and ensuing development so free of stress we would not
have committed to a home there regardless of the other attributes
above. This is the first vacation/second home for me and you have
made it as stress free as I imagine it can be. Add the additional
complexity and risk of buying in a different country where I'm not
wholly familiar with laws, customs, culture, etc. and the potential
for anxiety was quite high. You and your staff have decreased this
tremendously.
Perhaps the above attributes can be put in perspective when I
realize that they opportunity to play golf right outside my front
door is not, and never has been, a deciding factor in our purchase.
Gabriela and I are both looking forward to many relaxing days at
Vista al Once.
See you soon,
Van

saludos !!

Dear Jose Luis,
My wife and I were attending a family reunion in Ensenada last April and noticed the highway billboards signs announcing Baja Country Club. Being an avid golfer and a past resident of Ensenada I had played the course several times, so I was curious if a new course had been built. My wife and I drove out and saw the project and liked what we saw, we played the course, met with you to ask questions and decided to purchase based on:
1) BCC would be a good place to have a second/retirement home.
2) The golf course was challenging but fair, the surrounding area is beautiful, close to the beach, etc.
3) The architectural style of homes and the construction methods.
4) Security was the biggest deciding factor. The fenced gated community and the security people in place, since your home would probably be robbed or vandalized if you are not a full time resident in Mexico.
